MP3 Audio Interviews
On September 2, 1957, Elvis, Scotty Moore, Bill Black and DJ Fontana performed one show at Multnomah Civic Stadium as the last stop on a whirlwind five city, four day tour of the Pacific Northwest that included Spokane, Vancouver, Tacoma, and Seattle. It was only the second tour that year and was promoted by Lee Gordon, who had promoted the earlier tour in the Spring of Canada and the Midwest. According to Peter Guralnick, he had also been trying unsuccessfully to get the Colonel to agree to a tour of Australia. Gordon, originally from Detroit, had been promoting big names acts in Australia since 1953. Read more.

Tony Prince announces Elvis Presley's death on Radio Luxembourg
Radio Luxembourg was the first radio station in Europe to announce Elvis Presley's death.
This recording starts at 10.41pm and you get to hear the last few songs of Mark Wesley doing a chart rundown. The first sign that anything has happened comes at 10.52pm when Wesley tells listeners to stand by for an important announcement. At 11pm Mark Wesley reads the news and announces Elvis' death, and then it's the Tony Prince show. Prince, close to tears at times, devotes his entire show to Elvis, finishing at 3.45am. Unfortunately this recording only captures the first hour.
Radio Luxembourg, 16th August 1977, 10.41-11.57pm
We edit for you straight to the news announcment (So time, cut to 46min.)
Elvis Has Left The Building Dec 15, 1956 (03:56)
The now legendary fraise 'Elvis has left the building' was first made by Horace Logan on this night.
Above - In November 1973, at Sam Thompson's house (Linda Thompson's brother) house, Elvis sings and quotes the 'Poem' Ode To A Robin Poem. (Warning - Elvis uses the F word)
'Baby What You Want Me To Do', 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry', 'Spanish Eyes', 'See See Rider' and 'That's All Right' were released on the FTD CD, Made In Memphis. These are very nice informal recordings. Also on the CD are alternate takes of Elvis recoding's 'made in Memphis', from Elvis' sessions in Memphis in 1969 (American Sound Studio), 1973 (Stax Recording Studio) and 1976 (the den at Graceland).

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.
The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
